STEPHANIE HAYNES
Stephanie started photographing as a way of exploring, making sense, and remembering the world and her life.

Based in Manchester, she is employed by the NHS as a cost accountant, was awarded an MBA by the Open University and studied photography at MANCAT.  She continues to develop her photography via self-directed projects.

In responding to the theme, she reflected on life’s inequalities, from global issues such as human trafficking and waged ‘slavery’, through to the everyday tensions arising from conflicting values and access to finite resources; when person rubs against person.  Recalling the extract from George Orwell’s satirical allegory Animal Farm: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”, she reinterpreted by adding a question mark: Everything Equally?  The photographs build on her experience of street photography, using natural light, and in seeking out the small, often overlooked, details of life.
