TREVOR OLNER
After leaving school, Trevor joined the RAF to train as a photographer. Seventeen years later he settled in Wiltshire with his wife, two children, and an assortment of pets, where he worked in a small camera shop and photo studio. After a brief spell involved with literature projects in Cyprus, he is now based in Salford. A turning point in his photography came in 2005 whilst attending a platinum/landscape workshop in Carmel Highlands, California, led by Kim Weston.

The Saturday evening dinner guest was photographer Martha Casanave, who showed some enlarged pinhole photographs.

This was the catalyst to his interest in pinhole cameras and alternative printing processes.

Trevor interpreted the theme by photographing the Rochdale Canal. Built as a means of transport for the textile industry, it linked towns and cities, enabling goods to be transported quickly and cheaply. Recent restoration has offered the canal a renewed lease of life as a leisure attraction, bringing enjoyment for many people.
